“Read any good books lately?”  Me: “I’m not sure you are ready for that conversation”.

My name is Elaine Baker and I am currently a high school librarian at Pasadena High School in the Pasadena Independent School District, Pasadena, TX.  I have been a librarian at the high school since August 2012 and a middle school librarian in the same district the previous four years.  In total I have twelve years in education as a librarian and as a teacher. I am passionate about creating a place of great exploration, learning, acceptance, promoting and sharing my love of reading to all students.  I believe that all students can and should experience success in their education.

When I’m not working at the best job someone could have (LIBRARIAN!!) I am hanging out with my awesome family, reading young adult books, keeping up with my two dogs and two cats.  I love to cook when I have time, (I mostly just pin good things to eat on Pinterest and “save them for later”).  After visiting Edinburgh, Scotland last summer I have a great desire to travel more and step outside my comfort zone.  I have a full life of family, pets, and friends.   I also have a fantastic career which allows me to do what I love and am most passionate about, it’s truly the best job in the world.  Seriously.
